About this collection

Serendipity was the quarterly newsletter of Friends for Bikecology, a non-profit organization from Santa Barbara “formed to encourage public use of all forms of transportation (except the car).”  The newsletter had a strong political viewpoint dedicated to enacting ecological legislation on both a local and national level. Accompanied by full page prints of cycling related photographs and illustrations, it featured opinion and news items on transportation oriented topics as well as reporting on organizational activities. Serendipity ran for only 12 issues from 1971 through 1974. It was originally issued as a two page spread, folded in quarters, and measuring 47 x 63 cm.
